STEP 2 / INDIVIDUAL ARTICLE  

Write and share in the collaborative forum, an article for a newspaper, consisting  of  three  paragraphs.  Each  paragraph  should  be approximately 100 words long. Consider the level of English you are enrolled  in  and  use  adequate  grammar  structures  and  vocabulary according to the level. Follow this structure: 

Title: Use a creative title for your article.  Paragraph  1:  Historical  background  of  your  community,  place  of birth  or  place  where  you  live,  including  its  founding,  interesting anecdotes, or historical events.  

Paragraph  2:  Highlight  significant  and  iconic  places  in  your community, place of birth, or place where you live. Describe the most important  landmarks.  Explain  their  significance  to  the  community. Discuss  important  festivals  and  events.  Explain  why  these  festivals are significant to the community. 

Paragraph  3: Share your personal life story in this place. Describe your experiences, memories, and personal growth. Explain how this place  has  influenced  your  life.  Reflect  on  the  impact  of  your community, place of birth, or place where you live on your personal development and identity.  

You  can  use  the  following  example  as  a  guide  to  write  your  article; consider this is just an example for you to check the general structure, please  do  not  copy  this  information.  Otherwise,  you  must  also consider the paragraphs length:  

Exploring the Rich Heritage of Quindío, Coffee Paradise 

  Paragraph 1 / Historical Background:  

Nestled  in  the  heart  of  Colombia,  Quindío  stands  as  a  testament  to the  country's  rich  history.  Established  in  1966,  this  department  has evolved into a cultural haven, blending indigenous heritage with the influence of Spanish settlers. The echoes of Quindío's past reverberate through  time,  weaving  tales  of  resilience  and  tradition  that  have shaped the identity of this enchanting region.  

Paragraph 2 / Gastronomy, Festivities and Landmarks:   Quindío's allure extends beyond  its history, captivating visitors with its  diverse  gastronomy  and  iconic  landmarks.  From  the  Valle  del Cocora, adorned with towering wax palms, to the immersive Parque del  Café,  where  tourists  can  immerse  themselves  in  the  complete coffee  experience,  Quindío  offers  a  sensory  feast.  PANACA,  the National  Agricultural  and  Livestock  Culture  Park,  showcases  the region's  agricultural  richness,  complemented  by  winding  rivers  and villages boasting traditional architecture. Notable celebrations like the Festival de Velas y Faroles in Quimbaya on December 7th and 8th, and the Departmental Coffee Festival underscore the cultural significance of  Quindío.  Delving  into  the  gastronomy,  local  specialties  include traditional  dishes  like  arepas,  empanadas,  and  the  famed  bandeja paisa, accompanied by the distinct aroma of freshly brewed coffee.     

Paragraph 3 / Personal Life Story:   Having lived my entire life in Quindío, I take immense pride in being a  Quindiana.  This  department  has  shaped  me  into  a  resilient  and hardworking  individual.  The  heart  of  our  sustenance  lies  in  coffee production,  agriculture,  and  tourism.  What  I  like  the  most  about Quindío is its climate and the  proximity of its  towns, that facilitates the travel across the region. The tranquil environment that permeates Quindío  creates  an  atmosphere  the  allows  personal  growth  and community cohesion. Here, we are educated with values of kindness and  warmth,  setting  us  apart  in  a  nation  of  diverse  regions.  This collective attitude has not only fostered my personal development but has  also  been  the  cornerstone  for  countless  families,  creating  a department  of  hardworking  individuals  who  contribute  to  the prosperity of Quindío.
